2. What tells you it is time to harvest the rice? They will pick it up when it is summertime and when it turns yellow.
3. What is a ‘threshing machine’? (what does it do?) The separates the rice grains from the stalks.
4. What goes into a threshing machine? The rice stalks goes in the machine.
What 2 things come out separately? It is rice and stalks.
5. What do the family use each of these things for:
rice - They use the rice to eat.
rice stalks -They use the rice stalks to make hats and baskets to sell.
husks-They use the husks to make fire.
