My New Piano

Me and my new piano.

P1. On sunday Feb the 13 in 2016 we went to my aunt's house and she lives far far away we went there because she wanted to move some stuff out like her old piano and her big kid’s toy’s. She has a feijoa tree at the back of the house and then I said to sister “ I know what i’m going to do go and grab some feijoas at the back” so we went at the back with our plastic bags and boom there was a lot of BIG feijoas so me and my sister was so so happy. My sister said “ I want to live here and I am going to live here” so I said “ well you can live here while I am in samoa with mum and dad” and she said “ no way man I want to go to samoa” so I said  “ we are both going to samoa with mum and dad” now we went back inside the house with our BIG feijoas My mum said “ wow look how many feijoas you guys got it is like you go the whole tree” and my aunty was laughing.

P2. Then I saw the old piano it was a little bit olden day, but I still said “ I still want it” because If I go there another day it might be gone and I will be sad so we took it in the car and I did the work and I was sweating so I went in the house and I grabbed a fresh cold water then I said “ ahh ahh” then we still needed to put in the toys inside the car that we are going to get from her garage and believe it or not she had lots of toys then I said “ this is going to take forever”.

P3. So I was doing the most work and I had to lift heavy boxes of toys and of course I had a little play around with the toys and I was pretty all right with the amount of toy that we are getting but the mess is going to be big and I will be tired of picking up the toys.

Holiday Highlight

In the holidays I went to Rainbows End with my family. The first ride that I went to was the power search  and it was just like the invader so then I said to myself “hey if the power search is just like the invader then I should go and try the stratosfear because the stratosfear spines just like the invada” So then I went and tried it with my brother. First my brother said “you can lead the way” so then I went on the ride first and then my brother came and fastened his seatbelt, But I didn't so then I got of the ride and my brother could not get his belt off so then he said to the ride manager tack off my seatbelt right now! But then the manager said sorry to late and then I hi fived the manager and the ride went on. Then when the ride was finished he came off and said to the manager “NICE JOB!!” So then we went to my aunt's house to finish off the best day ever. Click here to see the song.   

Making Pool Table

         

Last Term my friend and I thought about making a pool table at Maker Space, but then other people copied us. So we tried to be the first people to make a pool table so that people would know that we came up with the idea first. But then I had another idea, to make a dart board. But then this kid said to his mate “Dude should we make a dart board” and then I jumped in and said “Wait wait wait! That was our idea”. 
They said “No, I had that idea first” so I just let them have it because that is what Ambassadors do the best - let other people feel included, just as Talita says in her introduction.
So, we made the pool table and finished it off quickly. Here is a short video and if you want to see the finished game that my friend and I made, then head over to classes 6, 7 and 8 and try to spot me when you get there so I can show you the pool table.

Team 4 Trade Fair

WALT: Add one main idea per paragraph.

Our Topic for this term is to make things like toys or bracelets and then try to sell them at the market - This is called trade and enterprise.

Trade and enterprise means to me is that we are being smart and careful with our money. We are also learning how to be a salesman or a saleswoman

Another thing about money is that if you sell something for like 50 c and the real thing is like 2.50 you are only getting half the price and not even getting more money and you are getting nothing at all.  This term we need to make a  businesses group to earn money.

Me and my buds groups name is superheroes we make superheroes bracelets and superheroes out of bands. My bubs names are Omari, Davide, and Kaden.  The trade fair was a little bit hard to get people to look at our products that we are selling like superheroes bracelets and thing that is made out of bands. We sold our Loom Bands for like 50 pcs or a Pt  we were trying to get people to come and still we got alot of allders.    

We are hoping to get  make a lot of Pts and make heaps of money.

If I had a million Dollars at the Mall

Intro

In the morning I woke up and I saw a million dollars right in my face so I got up and rushed to the mall. There I was in the heavens at the mall I said everybody please get out of the mall I will pay you money so then they went out of the mall. But then there was a worker sweeping the floor and I said wheo there get out of the mall this is my mall for now so then he ran out scared and I was laughing ha ha.

So then I went to Toyworld and I bought heaps of legos because whenever i’m watching  tv with my little nephew and the ad comes on about toys he says “uncle can you buy me that” and I say “sorry I don’t have enough money”. But no that I have money I can buy all the things that my first little nephew wants like nerf guns and all of that.    

Then I ran to JB HIFI and I bought a flat screen tv for my mum and my dad with a letter saying thank you mum and dad for looking after me when I was a baby so I want you have this flat screen tv for doing all the best to rase me. After that I  bought my my brothers

some PS4S and Iphone sixes so when I was buying these stuff I thought about my sisters so I bought my sisters some Iphone sixes.    

Now I was looking at my shoes and they looked a little bit ripped so I walked to Footlocker because it was right nextdoor. When I got there I looked at the Air Jordans and Nikes and T Shirts then I said to myself “ I shall get Nikes wait no I shall get Jordans and T shirts na I shall get all ”. So I got them all and I said “ wow I look cool this is what I need for my self” After that I went back home and sleep ahh.  

I said to myself at home “did I spent my money well today at the mall yes I did because I spent my money on the things that my family wanted and the thing that my nephew wanted’.

My Job

I would want to be a dishwasher monitor. I would be taking cutlery to the staffroom and I will be washing them.

I would want this job because I might get payed a lot and to give the teachers nice and clean dishes not like the those other guys. When I do this job I will be quick and fast trying my best to improve. I won’t be late for class and I would do the dishes.

I am the right person for the job because I have done this at home with my mum or for myself. This is the right job for me because I am good and my hands are pretty good because my hands are super quick. Last time there was heaps of dishes on Christmas night and it was my turn to wash the dishes so then I putt on my gloves and I turned the hot water on then I scrape scrape scrape and then I dried dried dried. Then the dishes were nice and clean.

This is my CV and job application. For this task I had to prove why I was worthy of the job, dishwasher. I had to provide my teacher with evidence of past experience and reasons why I am the best candidate. I have learnt during this process that it is much harder to get a job than I first thought!

Warriors V Sea Eagles

On Saturday my dad came back from work with six tickets to the Warriors V Sea Eagles and then I said “ yes we got some tickets to the Warrior's V Sea Eagles” . Then we went straight to the game at four thirty because the game started at five O'clock. So when we got there we had to wait in the line and give the six tickets to the man at gate A.

Then we got in and eat lunch but my sister couldn't because she dropped her sandwich so then I had to she my sandwich. And then I was so sad but then the game started so we had to watch the game and then Shawn Johnson scored a try and the crowd goes wild the crowd was like yeah yo whoa Wow Amazing but then the crowd went sad because Shawn Johnson broke his leg and I said “oh no no why why your beautiful leg that your team gets tries OH NO NO”. So then After that sad moment My dad said “ see now the Warriors are going to lose So then we went out of Mount Smart Stadium and and went  and had dinner at  my aunt's house.

And when we got there we eat steak with mash potatoes and gravy and mixed veggies Yummy for my tummy so I was so clean for seconds. Then after dinner  I went in my aunt's garage and played some pool table  and then I went back in the house and watched the game and the warriors lost, and my dad was right. but, luckily we got the six tickets for free from this Indian man at my dads work.

Two Weeks holiday

On sunday July 19th in the morning I went to church and I was serving and by the way I am a catholic. I go to St Pius the X catholic church and I love to serve. so after church we went back home and made a sunday feast and when it was time to eat  I had to say the prayer for the food. So I said “Thank you lord god for bringing us this food today that me and my family eat and thank you for everything in Jesus christ your only son Amen. The things that we eat was samoan food like taro, corn beef, pig, chops ewe, chops, and oka, all of my cousins loved the food even my cousins dog loved it. So after the feast we had some old videos about me and my family to watch. And then my little nephew said “ yes family movie time” and then everybody started to laugh and he was like “what why are you guys laughing” and then I said “because you are funny” and he said “no i’m not”. Then after that funny moment we watched the first video about me and my brothers in samoa doing the samoan haka we were going wild but that is when I was a little baby. That video was taken in 1923 jokes it was taken in 2009. Tetris came down my aunt's eyes so then I gave her a teshou and she hugged me and my brothers and then she said “ow my nephews you are so so good at doing the samoan haka. And that was my two weeks holiday.

On wednesday I was watching the state of origin and the team that I was going for was QLD and they won yea I was so happy because me and my brother made a bet who is going to win the state of origin, is it going to be QLD or NSW. We bet 20 dollars and on that wednesday night I was filled with joy because QLD won yea a and I was so happy that I almost cried but my brother was not so happy because he was going for NSW but they lost and I was like haha you lost.So he needed to hand over the money and he was sad and that was my Holiday.

Explaining My Game

Introduction This game is called jump levels and it is about a man trying to get out of this big world and getting back to his own world. I will be explaining my character and my hard levels and and my game it is a little bit easy and a little bit hard. The task that I was given was to make a game using hyperstudio and I did my game on an iMac and used hyperstudio I was a little bit hard making this game because I had to copy and past hips of stuff.

Paragraph 2 My lead character is named hit Man  he needs to try and clock all the levels and get out of that big world. He is lost in and he needs to go back to his own world. He is in A big world and he is lost and he needs to go back to his own world. In my game is that he will get past three levels and he will die on the fourth level and then it goes back to the start and choose another person. His mission is that he needs to go back to his family in his own world and help them survive.

Paragraph 3 My characters hardest level will be the level when he faces the boss and he might defeat him or he might not defeat him and die. How to win is that you need to clock all levels and defeat the boss but is you don’t clock all levels it is game over and you can get some money as well. You only have five lives and you can lose one by failing and not clocking the levels. you push the space button to jump and push D to duck.

Paragraph 4 My character faces A boss that might kill him or not kill him and he faces the jump level that he needs to jump every time. He will die and will come again because he has five lives.

Conclusion My game fix the problem by completing every level.

ANZAC Reflection

P1. On Friday at assembly we had to go outside to the Anzac crosses,”but I  don’t mean that we are going to a cemetery we are just going to the crosses so that we can remember the people who died for us and who fought for us NZ. The Anzac people are really important to NZ and us, back in world war two Mr somerville said his granddad was in the war and same as Miss flavills grandad was in the world two.

In WW1 and WW2 they had dog’s in the battle they used the dogs for sending messages and the dogs were really good for killing rats. What I mean is that when they dig a trench the dogs kill the rats because it will be enoing if you are shooting but there's rats all around crawling on you and they are seeking. In WW1, they survived by eating little pieces of tiny bread for dinner and for breakfast. When one person is down you need four people to carry the bearer and it will be dangerous because if you are going to the other side with the bearer you might die and get explode by the shrapnel and Mr somerville said his granddad got the shrapnel stuck in his leg.

P3. I learned that the people in WW1 and WW2 are very special and important to us because they saved us and they saved NZ, but it is sad for the people who did not make it home after the war, but they are still the best soldiers for NZ. And remember we will remember them and we are lucky to saved by the NZ soldiers.

I did my sentences properly and added fullstops at the end of the sentences.

I am happy that I changed my words when I start a new sentence

I have realised that I should have more explaining in my paragraphs

I didn’t remember to add some proper writing so next time I will remember to put in proper writing.

I have realised that I should have a much longer sentences.   

My goal for writing is to add more explaining. I have chosen this because I did not explain my writing properly.

The Cardboard Cathedral

WALT: Find comparisons and differences between items and provide proof.


This is my groups reading follow up. This presentation is about comparing Christchurch with Auckland and finding out about their differences. We were also challenged to look for similarities and items that have nothing in common between these two cities.

During this activity I have found out that when Christchurch built the replacement building they did this with cheaper materials because if there is an earthquake and your house has been damaged you can just live in the cheap house and you don't need to pay that much. They also built the cathedral using cheaper materials because it will only be used for a short time until they can afford to build the permanent cathedral.

My favorite game on coolmath games is Run two, I like it because it is pretty hard and it keeps me concentrating on it and sometimes it can be really tricky. You can die pretty easily on this game because it is like a maze where you do not know where to go and fall. What I like about this game is that it can keep me busy for hours and when I am bored I play this game on my computer at home.

You can play this with a friend like at school when it is free time because you can put your chromebooks together and look if your friend can beat your level that you are on and the levels can never stop. and you can challenge your whole family and have fun playing this game.

His Own War - Character Description

This week we had to create 2 Padlets. The first padlet explained what perseverance meant, and how Archibald Baxter showed this while he was in World War 1. The second Padlet explained how Archibald Baxter was resourceful and how this helped him to survive World War 1.

This week we have learnt to make two padlets. On the padlet I have learnt to change backgrounds and write lots of information describing a character’s personality. On the padlet we had to write how resourceful was Archibald Baxter. We have learnt to add exact details and evidence into the padlet from the story that we were reading. We have learnt how to find some evidence and clues about our story.

We are learning how to solve problems using shorter solving solutions. We learnt how to solve problems with a partner because it is easier.

Reviewing a game

Electric Joint

This game is about positive and negative just like a battery. On the battery it has a plus on the top and a take away, the plus means positive and the takeaway means negative. I love this game because it is tricky, because you need to join the plus wire to takeaway wire and it can be really tricky because sometimes the symbols are moving.

You can challenge your friends by timing how fast you can do it and it can be really tricky because if  you cross the one of the lines you will be out and it is a mind game and it is good for your mind. I recommend this game because it can keep you busy for hours and hours and you can do this during your math.
